OK, so I do this grocery-coupon-shopping thing, and I was able to combine the coupons and the sale prices to get 4 boxes of Frosted Mini Wheats and 10 boxes of Reynolds wrap and 2 caramels and a gallon of milk for $6
THEN- yesterday at ALbertsons I got 4 boxes of toaster strudel, 3 boxes of fiber-one pancake mix, 6 boxes of celestial seasonings tea, 2 pounds of sliced cheese, 12 hamburger patties, 2 chocolate things, 4 frozen pizzas and 3 boxes of Trix for $25.
AND- this isn't me at full speed yet, because of my limited internet access. Just wait until i can order some coupons again. If you want to learn how to do this, you need to go to hotcouponworld.com and download the upcoming sales ads for your stores. then, you check the coupon database to see which coupons are available and you order them on ebay or from one of the many women who distribute coupons online for just a handling fee.
AND- at Safeway I got 5 jugs of grapefruit juice and 2 10lb bags of grapefruits for $12.50
The big problem with this couponing is that it's mostly junk food. I use it a lot for getting toiletries, Walgreens had a deal last week where I could have gotten tons of free bottles of Garnier Fructis Shampoo and conditioner, but I failed to order the coupons in time (stupid stupid me) Anyways, I have a whole inventory of things I've gotten for free. At one point I had over 100 Glade Plugins, I have 6-8 tubes of toothpaste, extra razors and toothbrushes, Olay body ribbons (remember the microbead fiasco?) and all sorts of other goodies. It's fun. To use the words of my free-sample-loving friend, it's like sticking-it-to-the-man.
So anyways. try it. At first it's really time-consuming, but now i can scan all the ads and pick my deals in 1-2 hours a week.
